Just Come&See!

Come & See is a market for theatre, dance, circus, puppetry and new trends that especially targets international programmers and producers, yet also those of Spain and Catalonia. Come & See was created to promote the Catalan performing arts sector and to serve as a showcase for the best contemporary pieces produced in the region.

The Catalan theatre fair in Barcelona, Come & See, was conceived in 2006 as an initiative of the CIATRE, the Association of Professional Theatre Companies of Catalonia. The idea was to promote the creations of Catalan theatre companies abroad and to bring the international theatre sector to Barcelona.

After the 2006 event, which boasted a turnout of more than one hundred top-level programmers, the second edition of Come & See in 2008 opened its doors to the Catalan performing arts sector (theatre and dance), to give all of Catalonia’s theatre companies, creators, venues and production companies the opportunity to present their performances to invited international festivals, agents and programmers.

The main innovation of the 2010 event resided in extending the invitation to the entire performing arts sector, covering much more than just dance and theatre. The result was the Come & See, Catalan Performing Arts Market 2010.

The 2012 edition will be headquartered in the Ciutat del Teatre complex and held within the framework of the GREC 2012, the Theatre Festival of Barcelona. The performances and plays will be offered in the different venues of the Ciutat del Teatre complex, as well as in the Grec Hub, which will be located in the Plaza Margarida Xirgu, beneath of the big tent of the Circ Cric. This will also be the venue for events of encounter and exchange, dialogue, market, project presentations for coproduction, and night festivities.

Come & See 2012 will once again boast its international nature as an artistic market for interaction and exchange among programmers and international talent.
